We bring about far-reaching change by enforcing and strengthening environmental laws on behalf of hundreds of organizations and communities. The organization operates out of nine regional offices. The Northeast regional office, which just opened officially in January 2008, focuses principally on issues of global warming and environmental health in Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.
Legal interns work under the direct supervision of staff attorneys in the development and prosecution of environmental litigation and other advocacy. In general, the student becomes a participant in the process of researching, preparing, investigating and prosecuting environmental lawsuits. Virtually all interns undertake legal research, write memoranda, and help evaluate factual issues. The internship program also may include attendance at informal seminars or topical discussions.
