Title: Vice President, Finance & Administration
Office: Headquarters
Department: Administration & Finance |
I suppose I'm your archetypal baby boomer. After my father left the navy in 1945, my parents had four children in five years. I was born in Hartford, CT, but my parents were California Dreamin' back in 1947. So the family moved to Walnut Creek, CA, when I was just nine months old. I lived in Walnut Creek and Lafayette until I moved away to college -- first to UC Santa Cruz (pioneer class of '69) and then to the University of Chicago, where I got my MBA. My first real job out of school was as a financial analyst with a venerable San Francisco international marketing firm (Getz Bros.). Then I worked as the controller for a start-up international transportation subsidiary of Consolidated Freightways for a couple of years before getting into the law firm business. I was the CFO for two law firms in San Francisco (Heller, Ehrman and then Pettit & Martin) before finally doing something really worthwhile in 1997 -- joining Earthjustice.
My wife, Noelle, and I have two children (Steven, 22, and Sarah, 18). In my free time I like to putter in the yard, watch a lot of news programs, play tennis and ski -- oh, and walk A LOT.
