$25.95, 325 pages NASA's top climate scientist, Dr. James Hansen, has worked for three decades to gather data about global warming and to explain what must be done to avoid the worst impacts of global climate disruption. The solution, he warns, will require changing how we heat our homes, power our factories, and move across the landscape. Unfortunately, Dr. Hansen has faced many roadblocks during his career, many of them political. In Censoring Science, author/physicist Mark Bowen reveals efforts by the Bush administration to censor Dr. Hansen's work. Bowen interviews insiders who detail a coordinated campaign conducted by White House operatives and the pollution lobby to undermine Hansen's data and credibility. This book reads like a long-form "60 Minutes" piece with enough intrigue and treachery to entertain any mystery reader. Unfortunately, this story is non-fiction. --Brian Smith
