How To Help
Bequests
You can choose to leave a bequest to Earthjustice in several ways.
Through Your Will:
Leaving a bequest in your will is a simple process. Earthjustice can be named as the beneficiary of a set dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or specific assets. Your estate is entitled to an estate tax deduction for the full value of the donation. If you wish, you may name Earthjustice as a contingent beneficiary of assets designated for loved ones in the event they do not survive you.
Through Your Living Trust:
By including Earthjustice in your living trust you create the same powerful legacy as you would with a will. Living trusts are very popular as they eliminate the need for an often lengthy and expensive probate process. By using a living trust you are insuring the desired distribution of your wealth in the event you become incapacitated during your lifetime as well as after your lifetime.
Using your IRA or Qualified Retirement Plan:
Retirement plans are particularly attractive charitable gifts. If these funds were left to an individual, they would be subject to estate and income taxes, greatly reducing the value the gift. Both taxes are usually avoided when these assets are left to a charitable organization.
With A Life Insurance Policy:
Earthjustice may be named as the sole or partial beneficiary of a life insurance policy.
