Albatross Listing Petition

In Brief: The black-footed albatross, decimated long ago by hunters, is now being wiped out by the long-line swordfish fleet out of Hawai`i. Earthjustice filed a petition to get the species protected under the Endangered Species Act. The petition was denied and litigation is likely.
