Earthjustice, on behalf of Native and conservation groups, is challenging the Minerals Management Service's approval of Shell Offshore, Inc.'s plan to conduct offshore oil and gas exploration drilling in Alaska's Beaufort Sea, including in areas off the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Exploration activities could have devastating effects on the sensitive Arctic ecosystem, its wildlife, and Native cultures that depend on them.
